Service Technician
HVAC Service Technician – Job Description
HVAC Service Technician
The HVAC Service Technician is mainly responsible for operating, repairing and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and other related responsibilities. HVAC technicians perform warranty services, standard repairs, replacement services, and emergency repairs. The role is all about identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing
all types of HVAC/R equipment at primarily commercial locations but also select residential
locations. In addition, they perform preventive maintenance responsibilities and carry out
proactive repair work when required.
A successful HVAC technician needs to maintain a professional attitude, demonstrate great customer service skills, and problem-solving skills. In addition, you must be detail-oriented, organized, and well-versed with safety tips. You must have some skills like excellent mechanical aptitude, electrical skills, good communication skills, and a solid ability to read and understand technical instructions. You need to have great troubleshooting skills to understand which component inside the HVAC/R equipment has failed and know how to use multi-meters, humidity and temperature meters/probes, and leak detectors. Dragon is dedicated to providing 24
hour emergency service to our customers; therefore, our technicians should have the ability and willingness to be on a rotational on-call weekend schedule, to work for long hours (even on
on-call weekends), on short notice, or sometimes on public holidays. Be willing and able to work
in adverse weather and environments.
Primary Job Function
- Perform HVAC and refrigeration services and other trades as required.
- Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on controls and related equipment
- Replace air filters, belts, thermostats, and bearings beside blower assemblies
- Repair, adjust, clean HVAC/R systems and perform the services related to warranty
- Understand order of operations of HVAC/R equipment to properly diagnose.
- Problem solving skills.
- Clean units to improve air quality and optimize efficiency.
- Perform emergency repairs in timely manner.
- Input and review work order data to software provided by Dragon Heating & A/C Inc.
- Diagnose HVAC/R equipment, find parts, and prepare quote sheets for repair, order parts, and maintain truck stock.
- Maintain a positive, professional working and team building relationship with managers, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals, dispatching software, and related documents.
- Communicate with managers any questions or concerns in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers promptly and effectively.

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused HVAC Account Specialist to serve as a key point of contact for our customers and facility maintenance partners. This role plays an important part in delivering exceptional service, managing customer accounts, and supporting daily operations by building a positive customer relationship. The account specialists are a crucial representation of the company and must obtain the skills to listen to customer needs and satisfy those needs in a profitable way. This is a stable and long-term position in a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Primary Job Function
- Communicate regularly with customers and facility maintenance companies
- Provide exceptional customer service and timely follow-up
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers
- Create, communicate, manage, and track customer quotes
- Coordinate with HVAC supply houses to order parts and follow up on deliveries
- Support internal teams by ensuring customer needs and orders are handled accurately and efficiently
- Become well versed in facility maintenance portals and requirements and be able to provide assistance to technicians and office personnel with any portal issues/questions
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of customer service experience (HVAC experience is a plus)
- Strong computer skills (proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with industry specific software or equivalent is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

HVAC Service Dispatcher – Job Description
HVAC Dispatching
HVAC Dispatching refers to the process of coordinating and scheduling the most
efficient route for your HVAC technicians. It includes assigning the correct tech with the
incoming work order and coordinating the route to the proper location in the most
efficient manner.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent writing, reading comprehension and
communication skills along with the desire to provide elite customer service. The person
must be highly organized and efficient with an eye for detail. They must have the ability
to work independently, stay self-motivated and work in a fast-paced position. Previous
experience within the HVAC service industry is a plus.
Primary Job Function
- Prioritize customers’ needs and emergency calls
- Maintain the service technicians’ daily schedules and dispatch by assigning the right technician to each job as service calls are completed
- Schedule return trips with customers when parts arrive
- Keep track of unallocated jobs
- Maintain the on-call schedule for service technicians
- Observe and maintain technician vehicle tracking system, coordinate efficient routes and communicate any discrepancies to manager in a timely manner
- Manage service e-mails and communicate with customers as necessary
- Maintain customer database with current information
- Clear and concise communications with department managers, employees, and company customers, including keeping customers appraised as to company schedule and requested lead-times
Required Qualifications
